The LAMEEKEEP™ Modular Flood Barrier System is a method of flood protection which can be rapidly deployed when required if a possible emergency situation is forecast.

The system consists of a permanently installed stainless steel wet-sump enclosure, with hinged horizontal top panels, secured against unauthorised access with a dust-resistant locking device.

The sump enclosure houses a high-performance epdm membrane, which can be quickly positioned when the barrier is activated, clamped and sealed to the casing with a high performance watertight zip both sewn and bonded to the membrane using a high-performance sealant for enhanced security of the joint.

When open, the barrier panels are pressed against vertical edge seals, the seals being located in lockable cassettes providing protection against damage and/or interference with the seals when not in the active position.

The barrier panels are provided with a specially developed non-slip pattern, using LAMEEKAM™ Art Metal Technology, the pattern being in the form of a company logo, or other distinctive device or customised graphic, either as a raised pattern or as an imprint against a non-slip background.

Custom-designed assemblies can be manufactured for flood depths exceeding 900 mm subject to verification of the stability and structural strength of the surrounding building construction and the ability of the protected building to resist the increased hydraulic pressure from floodwater.

It is recommended that all structures are checked for stability as part of a survey to identify secondary paths for the potential ingress of floodwater. These secondary paths include, but not exclusively, side and rear doors, air-bricks, drains, structural cracks, and porous wall and/or floor constructions.

The installed barrier, in conjunction with measures to prevent ingress by secondary paths, is intended to prevent entry of contaminated floodwater and debris and to limit seepage through the barrier to a zero target and at worst a flowrate not exceeding 5-10 litres/hour, a seepage rate which can easily be controlled by manual means.

A comprehensive site installation service is being set-up and fast reaction mobile Flood Barrier Installation Teams will cover the whole of the UK.

Completed installations will be provided with a Certificate of Compliance to confirm that the barrier has been correctly installed and inspected and provides a recognised Flood Protection System.
